Classical Guitar Wichita

Hi there, my name is Victor d’Ablaing I have a BFA in guitar performance from WSU,  an MFA in Classical Guitar performance from UNM and I give classical guitar lessons here in Wichita, Kansas.  Many people are not quite sure what classical guitar means and many people confuse it with classic rock.  There is quite a difference.  The easiest way to clear this up is to simply  check out my soundcloud channel .  Or, look up classical guitar players on youtube.  If this seems like something that you would like to get into, then let me know, all of my information is on the contact page.

Another issue is why does one need a classical guitar teacher.  I think the simplest answer to this question is that it makes things easier.  Deciding to play the classical guitar is to begin a long and rewarding  journey.  Doing a few things wrong in the beginning  may not hold you back at first.  But imagine being a degree off when you start any long journey.  It is a great help to have someone who has already been there and can give you the direction and encouragement you need.

The most important aspect of guitar playing is practice.  Again imagine a journey practicing is simply putting one foot in front of the other.  As a classical guitar teacher my job is to point you in the right direction but ultimately it will all be done or not done by you.  And it’s fun, the better you get the more fun you have.

For beginners I think it is a good idea to start with the pentatonic scales and begin learning all of the natural notes (C major scale) on the fretboard ( no #’s or b’s)
